Governor Nyesom Wike of River State has said that he will ensure that former vice president Atiku Abubakar emerges victorious in next year’s election.
Atiku emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s primaries which held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Wike who backed Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal against Atiku in the primary election, however stated in a tweet that he has accepted the outcome of the election.
He further pledged his support for Atiku stating that he will stop at nothing to ensure the party emerged victorious in 2019.
”In the buildup, I had a candidate and i supported my candidate openly, that doesn’t translate to not accepting the outcome which was sincerely in favour of Alhaji Atiku. We will stop at nothing in the support of HE
@atiku to make sure the party comes out victorious in 2019.”
His tweet puts to sleep the rumors going around which state that he is planning on dumping the party after his candidate failed to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.
Wike to remain in PDP as he declares support for Atiku
Yesterday, Atiku released a statement in response to the attacks he’s been getting from the Buhari Organization. According to him, Nigerians now have the opportunity to chose between his record and that of President Buhari.
“The choice before Nigerians in 2019 is a simple one. Nigerians have a choice of electing a lively candidate with a record of providing 50,000 jobs to Nigerians in his private capacity versus the lifelessness (apologies to President Donald Trump) of a candidate under whom Nigeria lost 11 million jobs and became the world headquarters for extreme poverty.
“Nigerians have a choice of a man who will provide an efficient and business-friendly solution to the herdsmen crisis and a man whose government said ‘giving land for cattle ranching is better than death.”
