The Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Clement Ebri, has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu has the winner of the party’s governorship election in Lagos State.
Clement Ebri who was sent to Lagos to observe the governorship primaries, had earlier rejected the result. According to him, the exercise which held across the 20 local government areas of the state on Tuesday could not have held because the committee was still expecting the list of representatives of one of the two aspirants.
However, the chairman has now accepted the result after consultation with the National Chairman of the party Adams Oshiomhole in Abuja.
Oshiomhole reportedly had a closed door meeting with President Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja after which the decision was made and given to Ebri to accept the results.
Sanwo-Olu won the primary with 970,851 votes while Governor Akinwunmi Ambode got 72,901 votes.
