The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje has stated that next year’s election in Lagos will be between forces who want to keep Lagosians in slavery and those that want to ensure prosperity for all.
Jimi Agbaje will be battling it out with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
On his official Facebook page, Jimi Agbaje said,
“It is clear to me that Lagos needs more help than ever.
“But this time, the intervention wouldn’t just come from top-down but also from bottom-up knowing that the electorate, not any one man, would have to decide where we go from here as a people.
“This election is not just another popularity contest; rather it is a clear choice between two ideologies: one that enslaves and puts the interest of one man over many or another that, at its core, seeks to meet the yearnings of the greater good of the people of Lagos,”
Last month, Jimi Agbaje declared his intention to contest in next year’s gubernatorial election in Lagos.
Jimi Agbaje revealed this after a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
“It is true that initially I did not want to re-contest, but I had so many people urging me to run.
“I bought and submitted my nomination form shortly before it closed. I will be part of the PDP Lagos governorship primaries, billed for Friday, September 28th, “ he said.
