Aguero signs £220,000 per week contract extension with Manchester City

Sergio Aguero has extended his contract with Manchester City as he commits his future to the Premier League champions.

The club’s all-time leading goalscorer who surpassed Eric Brook’s 78-year record last November, signed a one-year contract extension worth in the region of £220,000 per week.

The Argentina international joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and will remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2021.

‘My idea was being here for 10 years,’ Aguero said. ‘I’ve been here for seven years, it’s going to be 10 when the contract expires.

‘This was the main reason I signed. I’m very happy because they have treated me very well since the first day I got here.

‘I’m very happy with everything that involves the club, my team-mates, the staff and the management team.’
